To mark its 10-year anniversary, Atomnation has put together a special 20-track retrospective featuring a cross-section of associated artists old and new. The compilation tells the tale of a label always evolving while staying true to its original mission to release crossover electronic music rich in melody and high in quality.
This collection has been in the works for over a year, such was the eagerness of Terstappen to get it exactly right. Although not keen on celebrating milestones and self-hype, this collection stands alone as a great testament to a proudly independent label that has shunned common trends, avoided the obvious, and managed to serve up well over 100 releases, all with a cohesive overall sound.
Atomnation is a worldwide family of artists. Each one has their own unique sound but one that fits in with the Atomnation vision for vibrant sounds and timeless grooves. Deep house, techno, electro, broken beat and ambient have all featured but with an always artful edge: the label has never been a place for throwaway tools, but instead for accomplished sounds that pair the emotional and the physical with great craft.
This anniversary compilation is not the ultimate end, but instead just the end of the start.
